What does the Fill PDF Form tool do?

The FreePDF Fill PDF Form tool reads the form fields embedded in your PDF — text fields, checkboxes and dropdowns — and lets you fill them in directly, then download the completed document.

Filling happens in your browser with pdf-lib. Your form data is never transmitted anywhere.

How to fill pdf form

   Drag and drop a PDF that has fillable form fields (AcroForm).

   Text fields become inputs, checkboxes become toggles, dropdowns become selects.

   pdf-lib writes your values into the form in your browser. Optionally flatten the form so values can't be edited.

   Save the completed PDF

   Download the filled document. No watermarks, no account.

Known limitations

FreePDF is honest about what it can and cannot do:

• Only works on PDFs with real form fields — flat scans need the OCR tool first
• XFA (LiveCycle) forms are not supported
• Digital signature fields cannot be signed here
